In December I won a raffle at MOPS. It was a basket filled with all kinds of baking things: cookie cutters, cake and brownie mixes, cookie mixes, a gingerbread house ready to be put together, candy and things to decorate the gingerbread house, holiday towels and one of these:
It's a cookie dough scoop. My first thought? "Lame."
Then a couple of weeks ago I was making chocolate chip cookies, and I was getting out a normal spoon to drop the cookies when I remembered the scoop. I tried it out, fully expecting to have to dig out the dough with my fingers. I was in for a pleasant surprise. It totally worked! Like a dream. So last week I made oatmeal chocolate chip cookies and was excited to bring out my new friend. Again, he didn't let me down. See the beautiful, even balls of dough?
And check out the picture perfect finished product:
I threw away the tag, so I can't even give you a brand name. I think it came from Target. But I highly recommend one. The only downfall is it eliminates the need to lick your fingers. If you want to eat raw cookie dough, you have to be intentional about it. No more excuses. Just own it.
