Book Review: Rumble! Zap! Pow!

If you are looking for a way to read Bible stories to your young kids in a way they will understand, this is it!  Written by Diane Stortz and illustrated by Luke Daab, Rumble! Zap! Pow! is a comic book-style Bible for energetic preschoolers.  It's fast-paced, fun, and broken down into language that any young kid will understand.  Not only are there 40 stories to teach them about God, but there are key ideas for parents to discuss with their kids and activities with each story to reinforce the special attributes of God.

I was most impressed with how Ms. Stortz was able to get to the heart of each story.  This book includes all the big ones, such as creation, the Fall, Noah's ark, and the parting of the Red Sea.  She tactfully left out a few parts that would scare young kids without losing the point of the story.  This book is one that kids will probably want to keep coming back to.  And, as a stay-at-home-mom, I love the activity ideas at the end of each story.  I think kids will enjoy it just as much!

Tyndale House Publishers has provided me with a complimentary copy of this book as a part of their blogger review program.
