Book Review: This Little Prayer of Mine

I love finding good books to read to my girls!  My daughter remembers everything, and I only want to put good things in her.  This Little Prayer of Mine by Anthony DeStefano is an excellent book about prayer.  It is, in fact, just one big prayer spoken from the point of view of a child.  This prayer serves as a great guide and prays all sorts of things that I pray for my girls.  I would love it if my daughters would remember this story whenever they are feeling scared, sad, lonely or even ornery.  The illustrations portray both a young boy and girl, so either gender will be able to identify with it.  The only downside was the very last page, where the child prays that God will love them forever.  I think it will require a conversation about how we don't have to ask God to love us because He already does, but the rest of the book is so good that it shouldn't deter you from reading it to your children.  Parents should be ready and willing to talk about that kind of stuff anyway.

I'm strongly considering buying several copies of this, and making it my new go-to gift whenever I go to baby showers.

This book was sent to me by WaterBrook Press in exchange for an honest review, as a part of their Blogging for Books program.
